Madison Bae

Violinist | Chamber Musician | Youth Orchestra Leader Freedom High School, Class of 2028

Madison is an accomplished young violinist and chamber musician based in Virginia. She began studying the violin at age eight and currently trains under Mr. Ko Sugiyama. Inspired by her older brother’s orchestral performances, Madison has grown into a passionate performer and dedicated ensemble leader.

Madison currently serves as Concertmaster of the Freedom High School Artist Orchestra and has been selected for the 2025 All-Virginia State Orchestra and the 2024 Regional Orchestra. Her past leadership roles include Concertmaster of J. Michael Lunsford Middle School, Concertmaster of the 2023 Regional Orchestra, and Assistant Principal of the 2023 Loudoun All-County District Orchestra.

As a soloist, Madison has earned top honors in numerous competitions, including the NVMTA Concerto Competition, MSMTA String Solo Festival, AYPO Concerto Competition, and the Bach-Baroque Competition.

An avid chamber musician, Madison performs with the award-winning Fereol Piano Trio, which has received national and international recognition, including multiple first-place awards and performances at Carnegie Hall.

She has been a member of the American Youth Philharmonic Orchestras (AYPO) since 2019 and has held several leadership positions, most recently serving as Violin II Assistant Principal.

Beyond performance, Madison is deeply committed to music education and community outreach. She has served as a teacher’s assistant at her church since sixth grade, regularly performs with the church choir, and is an Associate Director (Violin) and Chamber Junior Coach with Music for All (MFA) under Dr. Joo. She also contributes as a performer and visual art designer for community concerts at venues such as Brightview Senior Living and Inova Fair Oaks Hospital.

Madison is the founder and president of the Chamber Music Club at Freedom High School, where she fosters collaboration and musical growth among student musicians.

Outside of music, she enjoys cooking, sewing, gaming, and spending time with friends.
